How to shop around for cheap car insurance

I am writing this article to share my personal experiences with you with regards to car insurance quotes.

Few years ago when i acquired my driving licence, I phoned few insurance companies for a quote. They all quoted me very high. Then, I searched on the Internet and used the insurance comparison tools. I found that they were bit cheaper than previous quotes over the phone.

I decided to go for the cheapest quote given to me by the comparison websites, phoned up the insurance company, give them my bank details for direct debit and paid the first installment by card.

Next day when i went to work, one of my colleagues told me that i was paying way too much and asked my to phone an other insurance company(I am not mentioning the name here). The turned out to be a lot cheaper more that 50% than the one i had already purchased.

So, i cancelled my previous insurance(one purchased on the previous day) and went ahead with the them.

There is a big inconsistency in insurance quote prices, one must do a lot of research before buying a car insurance.

Also check with the local car insurance brokers, sometimes they are also find you a cheap insurance.
